The attackers directed their fire specifically at Mariño Correa, firing at least 12 shots before fleeing the scene. Despite the ferocity of the attack and the volume of gunfire inside the establishment, none of the other diners present were injured or targeted in any way.
Immediately after the shooting ceased, his partner assisted him with urgent first aid measures. They managed to transport him using a private vehicle to the Hospital de Emergencias de Vitarte. However, due to the severity and critical nature of the wounds sustained from multiple gunshot injuries, medical personnel were unable to save his life; he was declared dead upon arrival without vital signs.Investigación y contexto
The scene was quickly secured by local authorities. Serenazgo agents from Lurigancho-Chosica and officers from the Jicamarca Police Station arrived at the site to cordon off the area where the attack took place. Forensic experts from both the Public Ministry and Criminalistics conducted their work on the facade of the establishment, collecting ballistic evidence.
A representative of the Public Ministry was also present to carry out legal procedures and order the removal of the body, which was transported to the Central Morgue in Lima for an autopsy.
